Striving Ability Support
A recent rebrand and new web design for Striving Ability Support in Albury Wodonga.
The Vision
Striving Ability Support has the tagline "Nobody is Left Behind". Striving Ability Support is a disability support service started by Jackie Sheridan who struggled to find local services for her son. Jackie wanted to find support that focused on children that celebrated the positives and minimised the clinic aspect that comes with a child who has unique needs.
Our Mission
The existing website was very purple, with little content and no search engine optimisation. Maestro Media collaborated with us and provided high quality copy for the website. I broke the copy down in to sections and created headings that fit in with the SEO strategy incorporating on and off page SEO, Technical SEO and Local SEO. I also delivered a detailed website report with all the details of the SEO strategy we implemented.
Our Process
Jackie wanted something that celebrated the unique needs of children with disabilities. The website was designed with lots of images of children of all different types that showed the successes she had with her clients. A small site of 4 pages was designed in WordPress with Elementor customising the design to fit the content, not fitting the content into a cookie cutter template.

What role does social media play in website traffic?
Your social media should not only reinforce your brands awareness and drive traffic, but also play an essential role in supporting your SEO efforts. Like your website, your content must deliver real value to your audience while fostering engagement and building credibility with search engines. A strong social presence helps boost trust with the public and increases traffic to your website—all of which contribute to improved SEO performance.
How can I use my website to build an email list?
Include sign-up forms, offer valuable content like newsletters or ebooks, and provide clear calls to action. Lead Magnets are also your best friend. Keeping them relevant to your industry is a must, but particularly service based industries can offer how-to's, checklists and guide books.
What features should my website have to support customer engagement?
This really depends on the type of website you have. I discourage a chat bot unless your going to monitor it live, otherwise its easier for a customer to send you an email. FAQ's are great, along with interactive elements like blogs, forums, live chat (if its actually live) and social media integration.
Responsive Web Design
Responsive Web Design ensures that your site adapts seamlessly to different screen sizes, providing an optimal user experience for all of your potential visitors. With responsive website design, you’ll engage more users, improve SEO, and stay ahead in the competitive online landscape.
In today’s digital world, having responsive website design is essential. Sahara Studio specialise in creating website designs that look and function perfectly on any device, whether it’s a desktop, tablet, or smartphone.
Google Favours the Responsive
Responsive design contributes to better search engine rankings, driving more organic traffic to your site.
“Google search favours mobile indexing first, so build your website with responsive design.”
SOURCE
Googlebot will only crawl and index the mobile version of a webpage. If your website is not responsive design, Google will index the page as-is.
Mobile Response
Matters
In Australia, around 91% of the population owns a smartphone.
A responsive design ensures your website looks and functions seamlessly on various screen sizes.
“A mobile responsive website makes it easier for visitors to engage with your content, navigate your site, and complete purchases. If your website is not mobile responsive, visitors may become frustrated and leave, leading to a higher bounce rate and lower conversion rates.”
Speed Keeps Users Engaged
Page speed matters. How quickly your website loads will be a key factor in keeping your users interested.
Mobile users especially don’t want to hang around.
How quickly your website loads will be a key factor in keeping your users interested.
53% of mobile users abandon a site if it takes longer than three seconds to load.
Usability Impacts Conversion
Responsive design ensures that your audience has a great user experience resulting in a higher chance of conversion.
When your website is easy for people to use, they’re more likely to do what you want them to do, like buy your products or sign up for your services.
If your website is hard to use, people might get frustrated and leave without doing anything. So, making sure your website is easy to navigate and understand can help you get more customers or clients.
Great Accessibility will help you rank well on Google
What is accessibility mean with a website? And How Do the Website Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) Help my Website?
Accessibility in website design means making sure that everyone, including people with disabilities, can use and navigate a website easily.
This involves:
- designing the site so that it works well with screen readers for the visually impaired;
- has clear text at a minimum text size and is easy to read;
- uses colours so it can offer high contrast from their backgrounds;
- It’s a comprehensive list that ensures no one is excluded from accessing the information or services on the site, which is a core principle of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
At Sahara Studio, we make sure your website design is more than just striking designs, we ensure it is accessible by all users, to keep your users on your website and exploring your business.
What are the Accessibility Principals?
Web Content Accessibility Guidelines or (WCAG) are a set of rules and guidelines that help make websites more accessible to everyone. These guidelines outline a framework for web designers and developers to follow when creating website design. The 4 categories that make up these guidelines are as follows below.
Perceivable
Information and usability must be presented in such a way that users can easily recognise and understand it.
Operable
Being able to use the website, regardless of ability. All functionality of the content is operable.
Understandable
This focuses on making sure that users can interact with the website interface and navigate it easily.
Robust
Websites are compatible with a wide range of technologies, including assistive technologies used by people with disabilities.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Responsive Website Design?

** As of 2024, 60.67% of website traffic comes from Mobile Devices. By 2025, there will be over 1 billion 5G connections globally. 92.3% of internet users consider accessing the internet through their smartphones compared to other devices.

What is Google Search Console?
Google Search Console (GSC) is the bench mark in getting your site discovered and indexed by Google. Website Design that connects to Google is essential for business success and it is ABSOLUTELY FREE
It also provides information on you users from including
- Traffic to your website design;
- Which pages Google can read and have indexed with your websites new design
- What devices they view your new website design on;
- Where your audience is coming from
- How long they spend on any page on your website;
- The “bounce rate” which is how long your users are engaged with your website before they move on.
- And so much more..
What is a Call to Action?
A call to action a text link, button or statement that inspires your user to click.
Call Now, Join for Free, Download Now.
A compelling call to action (in my expert opinion) – is a block that states a problem your user is having that needs solving – then you use a hook – a possible solution that it can be resolved by -“clicking here”.
Example: NETFLIX
Your looking for a movie to watch. You go to Netflix and scroll through the titles. You click on a particular title.
PROBLEM: Looking for something comical to watch
A SOLUTION:
JUMANJI: WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE
THE HOOK:
“Four high school students get sucked into the jungle setting, of a video game where they embark on a quest as their comically mismatched adult avatars.
CALL TO ACTION: PLAY BUTTON
As each movie title is different, each compelling call to action or block, must offer a different solution.
Your business provides many solutions, so we want to make sure your website states a range of solutions for your users.
What is Essential Accessibility?
Making your website design accessible for everyone is not just a ranking factor, its common sense.
This is where the designer brain fights with the boss brain. Yep – love how it looks – but what is my ideal client and are they going to be able to use this website.
I am always aware of the neurodiverse community when designing websites. Why? Because I have been make the world look better for my autistic child since he was 3. Now towering over me, which really isn’t hard at 5″2 , I have been doing the research for years.
About 10 years ago I discovered the W3C. It amazes me how many people don’t actually know about it, and how many times I see web design templates that break every single rule . . . . WE DO NOT CENTRE BODY COPY TEXT EVER.
Rant finished.
W3C is stands for World Wide Web Consortium.
“W3C’s primary activity is to develop protocols and guidelines that ensure long-term growth for the Web. W3C’s standards define key parts of what makes the World Wide Web work.”
The W3C provide the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). These are the most basic guidelines for Website Design and Content .
There are 5 areas these guidelines cover:
- Perceivable
- Operable
- Understandable
- Robust
- Conformance
These 5 areas cover a lot of ground but they include important information to keep your website relevant and accessible for all.
Website Design with us will include:
- Logical Navigation
- Text contrast (3:1 rule)
- Line height, word spacing + letter spacing as advised by WC3
- Minimising automatic Blinking + Scrolling
- Following the Flashing Rule (3 flashes rule)
- Alt Image Text (for vision impaired and for SEO Optimisation)
- Hovering and Focus on essential parts of your website design message
- Adaptability (which we call responsive – turn your phone and the website adjusts for example
All of these guidelines are apart of our design process ensuring your website design can reach all of your audience.
Why is Readability a Good Idea?
Google will rank your site based an a lot of different factors – and readability is one of them.
As we discussed in accessibility, readability is an essential part of accessibility.
- Navigation
- Text contrast (3:1 rule)
- Line height, word spacing + letter spacing
- Alt Image Text (for vision impaired
- Adaptability (which we call responsive – turn your phone and the website adjusts for example
On readability (they age of the person your writing for) the W3C states:
“When text requires reading ability more advanced than the lower secondary education level after removal of proper names and titles, supplemental content, or a version that does not require reading ability more advanced than the lower secondary education level, is available.”
This suggest content should be able to be read and understood by an 8th or 9th Grader. That’s around a 12 – 14 years old. I have seen many other suggestions for younger but this benchmark has been around for a while with W3C and they are always reviewing their standards.
What is Custom Layout + Design at Sahara Studio?
We use the Elementor theme HELLO ELEMENTOR. This is like opening your sketchbook to a blank page rather than one with the constraints of lined paper. We create your website for you, without any cookie cutter predetermined templates.
How Much Control Do I Have of My Website?
We believe we are the caretakers of your website until we hand over.
We make sure all hosting, software licences, Google Analytics, and Google My Business are set up with a gmail address we create for you so you have ABSOLUTE FULL CONTROL at all time.
How Do I Capture Leads with my Webiste?
- Lead magnet designs that offer value to your users and ask questions that show you are an authority in your field
- Optimising content and ensuring all links and forms are in perfect working order.
- Keep form fields to a minimum – nobody wants to give all their details away first
- Using pop-ups correctly and sparingly.
- Ensure lead captures provide a way you can help your users.
- Ensure you provide personalised responses to your users who want to interact with you.
What is Image Optimisation?
Images need to be in particular sizes and formats to keep your page speed consistent.
Big clunky photos will impact your page speed, or not load at all.
This is why we need to change the size and format to make them compatible with your website. Wa also add a little thing called ALT text to your images, so people and Google know what they are about, and so the vision impaired know what the image refers to. This is a part of your accessibility of your website which search engines use to rank your site.
Why should we included Frequently Asked Questions for Users?
Including FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) on your website is a good strategy for both user experience and SEO benefits.
They Improve Your User Experience (UX)
- Quick Answers for Visitors – FAQs help users find information quickly & easily.
- Saves Time – Minimises repetitive questions via emails or calls, reducing customer support workloads.
Boost SEO and Site Visibility
- Captures Long-Tail Keywords – FAQs naturally include question-based phrases that users search for, improving your chances of ranking.
- Enhances Featured Snippets – Google often pulls answers from FAQ sections for its featured snippets, increasing visibility.
Builds Trust and Authority
- Positions You as an Expert by answering common questions establish your authority in your industry.
- Creates Transparency – A well-structured FAQ shows that you are open about your business and processes.
Supports Sales and Conversions
- Overcomes Objections – FAQs can address common doubts that prevent people from making a purchase or inquiry.
- Encourages Action – Clear answers can guide visitors toward booking a service, requesting a quote, or making a purchase.
- Provides Additional Context – If a product or service requires explanation, FAQs can fill in the gaps without cluttering main content pages.
Wha Website Hosting do your offer?
Our servers are located in Sydney, which means all of your website requests are processed locally, making sure delivery is faster, with load times for Australian visitors. This improves user experience, enhances SEO, and ensures your site remains accessible and responsive at all times.
You can also use your own hosting for your website.
What are your Photo Imaging Services?
I offer professional photo editing and enhancement services to help you achieve the perfect image. Whether you need minor touch-ups or more advanced edits, I can refine your photos using Photoshop. This includes removing outdated logos, adjusting colours, enhancing clarity, and making other modifications to improve the overall look. Where possible, I can also add new logos to older photos, ensuring consistency across your branding and marketing materials.
What is your Social Media Integration?
This answer is pretty simple – we connect all your social media accounts to your website and ensure they work correctly across your website.
Do you provide copywriting services?
We offer professional copywriting services through our affiliate, Maestro Media, or you can provide your own content for each page. We recommend a minimum of 600 words per page, structured with clear headings and bullet points to ensure readability. Avoiding large blocks of text helps keep content engaging, scannable, and easy for visitors to digest.
Why is a website clean-up important before handover?
I’ve worked on many websites where a proper clean-up wasn’t done after design completion, leaving behind unnecessary files, unused plugins, and messy code. Just like a job site, I ensure everything is cleaned up before handing over your website. This keeps your site running efficiently, improves speed, and ensures it’s in optimal condition for launch. A well-maintained website is easier to manage, loads faster, and provides a better user experience.
Why is submitting a sitemap to Google important?
I ensure that your latest sitemap is submitted to Google so it can efficiently crawl and index your website. This helps search engines understand your site structure, ensuring all important pages are found and ranked correctly. Sometimes, this process requires tweaking, such as prompting Google to re-crawl specific pages or identifying and fixing any broken links. Keeping your sitemap up to date improves search visibility and helps your website perform better in search results.
Why is content linking important?
Content linking plays a crucial role in both SEO and user experience. Internally, it helps connect your pages, making it easier for visitors to navigate your site without getting lost. Externally, linking to credible sources strengthens your content and improves its authority. Most importantly, Google values well-structured internal and external links, which helps your website rank better. By strategically linking content, I ensure your site is both user-friendly and optimised for search engines.
