The Challenge
One of the biggest challenges was finding an event management system that matched the way OzArtz operates.
I evaluated a range of event administration tools to streamline class creation, bookings, attendance lists and sales reporting, including premium solutions such as The Events Manager and WP Event Manager. While these platforms offered extensive functionality, they were built for a broad audience rather than OzArtz’s unique workshop structure.
The result was expensive software packed with features that weren’t needed, while missing the flexibility that was. Basic information had to be entered multiple times, everyday tasks took longer than they should, and the workflow felt unnecessarily complicated.
Rather than adapting the business to fit the software, I designed and built a custom system tailored specifically to the way OzArtz runs its workshops. By developing the functionality in-house, I eliminated duplicated processes, simplified day-to-day administration, and removed the reliance on third-party software to control a critical part of the business.
